Assisted Living and Independent Living in Denver
In 1874, local philanthropists wanted to create an inclusive retirement community that felt like home, regardless of seniors’ financial circumstances. Almost 150 years later, The Argyle is true to that original mission. The non-profit organization remains committed to providing quality living for seniors, at reasonable rates, and The Argyle campus takes up an entire square block.
Located in a historic building in northwest Denver, The Argyle has been in its “new” home since 1900, at 38th and Tennyson, in the heart of the popular Highlands neighborhood. Known for its desirable central location and proliferation of trendy restaurants and shops, the Highlands is close to downtown Denver and three highways.
The Argyle has 187 apartments, which includes 50 one-bedroom Independent Living apartments, 109 studio apartments in Level 1 of Assisted Living, and 28 studio apartments in Level 2 of Assisted Living. The Independent Living apartments at The Argyle are Section 8 housing, set aside for low-income seniors.
There are beautiful outdoor areas around the campus of The Argyle, which residents in the “walking club” take advantage of every day. In addition, there’s an on-site hair salon and a wellness center, where seniors can exercise. Three groups of physicians, as well as a podiatrist, come to The Argyle on a regular basis.
There’s no shortage of activities, with cooking classes, happy hours, arts and crafts, gospel hours, Bingo, bookmobile visits, Bible study, and outings to restaurants and stores.
